46 Parallel conquers the market of Africa

16th March 2021

46 Parallel Wine Group has exported its wines to the African continent. Another batch of Apostrophe and 46 Parallel wines was shipped to Nigeria in March.

Since entering the Ukrainian market, the company has announced its ambitious plans – to become a calling card of Ukraine on the wine map of the world – and aimed at export orientation. 46 Parallel Wine Group began negotiations with the African side in 2020. At the same time, the first supply contracts were signed, and despite the quarantine, the first wines were exported on the shelves of African stores. Due to the high quality of wines, Ukrainian winemakers received another order from Nigerian partners and successfully supplied their products to African consumers.

-Nigeria is one of the most populous countries in Africa, whose alcohol market is developing dynamically. That’s why it’s important for us not only to be represented in the African market, but also to gain the trust of African consumers and build stable relationships with distributor partners, says Anna Gorkun, CEO and founder of 46 Parallel Wine Group.

In recent years, Nigeria has become a surprisingly promising market, where the share of imported alcohol has increased several times. In 2021, the profit in the “wine” segment is estimated by experts at 465 million US dollars. The market expected to grow by 15.32% annually. Given that Nigerians mainly consume still and sparkling wines, preferring red wines, 46 Parallel Wine Group will introduce the red wine to the African wine market. Currently, the company is negotiating the export of products with Europe and the Middle East.
